West Texas – June 29, 2025
Blue Origin marked another milestone in private spaceflight today with the successful launch and landing of its New Shepard suborbital rocket, carrying six passengers briefly into space before returning safely to Earth.
Lifting off from the company’s launch site near Van Horn, Texas, the rocket soared past the Kármán Line—the internationally recognized boundary of space—giving the crew several minutes of weightlessness and spectacular views of Earth’s curvature.
This mission, part of Blue Origin’s continued effort to make space tourism a reality, demonstrates the company’s commitment to reusable rocket technology and safe commercial spaceflight. The fully autonomous capsule and booster both executed flawless ascents and landings.
The six passengers onboard included a mix of space tourists and private individuals selected for the flight, though their identities were not publicly disclosed prior to launch.
Today’s flight marks Blue Origin’s 12th human spaceflight and further establishes the New Shepard program as a leader in short-duration, suborbital missions. The reusable system continues to be a cornerstone of Blue Origin’s long-term vision of millions of people living and working in space.
